When I started EmV Design Build, LLC., my idea was to marry beautiful and unique design elements into spaces through the use of finishes and color, with the technical side of construction to produce designs that can stand as art pieces and can be constructed at any given price point.

After 10 years of working in the interior design and construction industry, I discovered that the number one reason remodeling projects easily overwhelm clients, and consequently drive a project over budget, is due to the lack of planning prior to requesting bids from multiple contractors. I have also found that it can be overwhelming having multiple selections of finishes that range in different styles and price points and it becomes easy to lose track of the original idea or concept. More often than not, selections are made because time is running out to get the orders in to meet a deadline; then the frustration sets in and the project becomes exhausting and no longer fun.

It is because of this reason, that I have developed a sequential process for the entirety of the project. This process incorporates a face to face meeting, space planning and selections within the given budget for the project. This allows me to extract and create design plans based off of my clients’ desired vision for their space. EmV Design Build is the starting tool clients need towards achieving their dream space.

I then use the knowledge I have gained from being out in the field as project manager to create sequential drawings with construction verbiage and a matching line-by-line budget sheet that is presented for fair bidding.

I believe that every remodeling and construction job can be fun, but only when planned appropriately and budgeted with the final design concept and selections in mind. Project after project, my belief is proven correct, leaving my clients happy in their space.
